The Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters (CCGPP) recently polled a panel of chiropractors who were leaders in their field. They did this as an effort to document emerging standards of chiropractic care. This poll received an 80% consensus regarding chiropractic manipulation.
Some of the most agreed upon things about chiropractic care on the poll included:
- That the main goal of chiropractic care is for there to be improvement on patient functionality and also to provide patients with the knowledge necessary to improve their pain from home. Chiropractors should focus on lowering the number of treatments necessary for patients who can independently receive relief for their back pain. This is done through individual strengthening, range of motion, and rehabilitation exercises.
- That it is incredibly important that the initial therapeutic trials continuously reexamined to gauge the effectiveness of the chiropractic treatments. This should be used to further determine the next step in chiropractic care.
- That in order to achieve the preceding point, there should be accepted measurements that are used to compare, contrast and determine chiropractic effectiveness. For more information about these polls click here!
